MORAY MP Douglas Ross met with carer’s charity Quarriers in Elgin on Friday afternoon to see work being done during Carers Week which ends today (Monday 17th June).
Commenting Douglas said: “I was delighted to be able to visit Quarriers in Elgin again as part of Carers Week, particularly as they have just celebrated ten years of working with carers in Moray.
“It was good to hear about the support they provide to carers and their families and I’m delighted to be able to help them raise awareness of their work locally during Carers Week which celebrates the contribution of carers across the country.
“Quarriers offer a range of support services to assist those who are carers in Moray and provide an outreach service, as well as what they do from their base in Elgin, is clearly greatly appreciated by the hundreds of carers they work with.
“Quarriers do very valuable work and there are a number of issues I will now be raising at various levels of government to address some of the issues we discussed. Carers in Moray do so much outstanding work, we need to do everything we can to support them.”
