Moray MP Douglas Ross has welcomed the fact that following his intervention residents living on a new street in Forres have finally had their IV36 2TA postcode registered.
Douglas said: “I was contacted several months ago by constituents living in the new mobile homes at the Riverview Country Park in Mundole who were having problems because the postcode they had been given was not recognised.
“This was causing headaches for these residents at Findhorn Park, trying to register official documents with their new address or even just place online orders because their postcode was not appearing in drop-down menus.
“I wrote to several agencies including the Post Office and Royal Mail to try and seek a resolution and then engaged with Moray Council to take this forward with the developer of the site. Sadly it has taken months to progress.
“I raised this again with Moray Council last month as it was still unresolved but I am pleased to say that residents are now able to use their new postcode without problems.
“It is just a shame that it took so long to resolve, because the developers had not submitted their application.
“Hopefully, this is something that the council will keep in mind going forward and will seek swift action from developers so that other residents in new developments will not face similar problems.”
