Moray MP Douglas Ross says people travelling from Hopeman to Elgin on the 32 Service will not be left standing at the stop waiting every morning, after he wrote to Stagecoach to ask them to look at a delay which regularly happened during the school runs.
Douglas said: “I was contacted by constituents who complained the morning bus service was not meeting its timetabled pick up due to commitments with the school bus service beforehand. This only allowed the bus ten minutes to get from Hopeman to Burghead and back again.
“The problem was that the bus did the school run to Lossiemouth and then went back to Burghead to operate the coastal bus service from there, so it never had enough time to make its 9.12 slot from Hopeman.
“I wrote to Stagecoach asking if they could look at the timetabling to try and ensure the service was on time and I am glad to say that they have resolved the problem.
“As well as resolving the timetabling issue, Stagecoach have put a smaller sized bus on to the coastal service, which is better for smaller communities like Hopeman. I’m delighted that this situation has been resolved for local people.”
