Petition to reinstate grass cutting in Moray

Earlier this year Moray Council agreed their budget for 2019/20. It is accepted that balancing budgets and providing public services is becoming more and more challenging. However, as part of the budget setting process, it was decided by the majority of councillors, that maintenance of public open spaces would reduce and that only a strip would be cut around open space amenity areas of grass.  Moray Conservative MP Douglas Ross and the Moray Council Conservative Group of Councillors are now of the opinion that this was a ‘cut too far’ and have called on the SNP administration and the Leaders of all political parties and groups on Moray Council to review this policy as a matter of urgency as this decision is having an adverse effect on those living, working and residing in our communities as well as the impression it gives to the thousands of visitors Moray welcomes every year.

We the undersigned urge Moray Council to reinstate fully, the  grass cutting operation of all public open spaces under their jurisdiction with immediate effect.
